My Secret Pal Thinks Pink!

I just got a care package from my secret pal, Ashley! I was so excited to see all the goodies she crammed into the box. The main event was yarn I've been dying to try: Mango Moon viscose, in the cutest colors of pink/orange/yellow. I have no idea what to make. I really want to make something to wear, like a ponchette or shawl, but it may end up a scarf or handbag.
I'll keep ya posted! Ashley also made me a cute crochet hook holder that she sewed using a thriftshop wool sweater. It is lined in cute pink fabric and ties with an organza ribbon. I carry all my fave hooks in this, and it's so clever. She even has her own labels, and I'm totally envious. I must find out where she got these and have some made!! The care package also had pink bangles and little pink beads in it. Ashley, you went overboard on me, girl!

June Secret Pal Update

In the month of June, before I began my blog, my secret pal Ashley sent me a beautiful skein of Manos Cotton Stria in a royal blue color, and a new Clover bamboo crochet hook, AND an adorable dragonfly button. Turns out she loves dragonflies as I do! I made a bunch of little wheel motifs in order to embellish a pre-made top, and this is still in the works. I could use a bit more of the yarn, and my LYS was out of that color. When I hunt more down, I'll finish this or it will morph into another totally different project.

I've finished my Shell Dress!!

I got the last of the crocheting done and finished the neckline tonight! Needless to say, I am thrilled with how it looks!

What do you think? The yarn I used is Sinfonia by Omega, a sport-weight 100% mercerized crochet cotton with a nice stretch. It gives around all my curves and is very flattering! I will ask mom and grandma to help with the knit lining, and then I'll post my progress.

Three More Rows to Go!

I'm almost done crocheting my Big/Little Dress -- only three more rows to go!

Just 3 more rows to complete the bottom trim on my dress. It is
really shaping up nicely! The shell design is simple, yet elegant, and
the scallop trim along the bottom is beautiful. Did you know I had no
idea what it would look like! In the photo of the original pattern, (called Big/Little Dress, from crochetpatterncentral.com), you really couldn't
see the trim.

I promise to post photos of it very soon!

Welcome to my crochet blog!

I've been thinking about blogging for awhile now, and as I read my fave blogs daily, I think to myself, 'yeah, that would be fun'. So, I put together a basic page, and welcome your input. Please go easy on me.... I took a break from crocheting to work on this.

My hubby is a wonderful admirer and cheerleader for all my crochet creations; however, there's only so much 'ooh-ing' and 'ahh-ing' that he can do before his eyes glaze over. I needed this!
